Once a year, Epikos joins with local Vancouver contractors and restores a home that desperately needs reconditioning. This year’s project is for a dear friend of Epikos named Shelley.
For the past 4 years, Shelley has received treatments for incurable cancer as well as administering her own dialysis treatments. Her medical regiment has often left her exhausted and made it difficult to do upkeep of her home or use it in it’s current condition. Our plain is to renovate the home to be easier to maintain and easier to use to meet her health needs.
For this project we’ve recruited the help of a generous contractor and our own Alison and Don Lovell. After the initial assessments, we’re working on volunteer recruitment and hoping to complete this project as early as this May.
If you’d like to sign-up to volunteer, please contact Mike Larson to be added to the team for further updates. To help with the financial needs, you can donate at our campaign page to help cover the cost of materials of Shelley’s home renovation.
We are called to take care of those who struggle the most in our society. There is no doubt that the single mom’s in our communities struggle between trying to provide a home, food on the table and clothes on the backs of their children. Epikos seeks to become a partner with these families, discover their needs and create short-term and long-term helping strategies so these families don’t have to go it alone.
As a group of believers, we try to assist the needs from Epikos and our community that are outside of our restoration targets. If you or someone you know, needs help with _____________ than please contact our local compassion team.
