Why do we do what we do?
We have a heart for the world to change for the positive. To see the world better because we existed. We believe relationships are the key. We believe they can be healthy, families can be strengthened, neighborhoods can thrive, and cities can resonate peace when relationships are full of the love of Jesus.
What do we do?
We consider Epikos an expression of Jesus’ movement on earth so we Gather, Go, Serve, and Restore. Here is a short description of each and how to become fully engaged.
We gather each weekend as a large family to express God’s love, welcome newcomers, celebrate the good, encourage each other, and experience all Jesus had in mind for a healthy church.
We gather each weekend like Jesus did, but we also meet together in small groups called Go Communities(GoCo’s). These are groups of people that welcome newcomers and grow deeper in their relationships with each other and God. They each have their own vision for how to share the love of Jesus in their local area.
Each week at our gatherings, over thirty people come together and use a variety of talents to serve the Epikos family. Serving opportunities abound in Epic Kids, Cafe, Tech, Greeter Team, Worship Band, and more.
As followers of Jesus, we are excited to use our time, talents, and resources to share His love with those who need an extra boost. Our hearts are for the city of Vancouver, where we live, and so we are dedicated to compassion here.
We also continually feel called to be Jesus’ hands and feet in a remote town in Uganda called Ntandi. We have over 80 orphans there and two schools that we support. We do this through the organization, Project Hope Uganda.
What does “Epikos” mean?
Epikos is Greek for word, story, or poem. It’s the origin of the word epic. We truly believe there is a really good story that, if we choose to be a part of it, makes an eternal difference.
What do you believe?
We believe everyone’s story matters to God and He is actively working with them to make it come alive. Learning how he’s at work is crucial to seeing our story meet it’s full potential. For more specifis about what we believe, follow this link.
How do I join Epikos?
While we don’t hold official membership, you can partner with us by serving during our weekly worship gatherings, joining a GoCo and teaming up with us as we seek to restore our world in the name of Jesus. If you’d like to get baptized, you can fill out a form here or contact Pastor Tim
